Nick Little is wrapping up his first year as an aquarist with the National Aquarium. He is one of our freshwater specialists and looks after America's Freshwater Ecosystems Gallery, which boasts a wide variety of indigenous species found across the U.S.
Before joining our team, Nick spent four years working at the Virginia Living Museum in Newport News. There he spent three years as a herpetologist before switching departments to spend his last year as an aquarist.
In 2003, Nick also spent time volunteering at the National Zoo in the Invertebrate House. Nick has a particular fascination for native darter species, and also for members of the Cichlid family.
Nick graduated from Christopher Newport University with a bachelor's degree in biology and a focus on zoology and environmental science. He enjoys spending time outdoors and is a member of the Virginia Herpetological Society and the Potomac Valley Aquarium Society.
He was born and raised in Northern Virginia and currently resides in Springfield.
