Staff Bio - Andrew Pulver

Husbandry & Water Quality Supervisor

Andrew Pulver is the husbandry and water quality supervisor for the National Aquarium, Washington, D.C. Andrew's career in public aquariums began at the National Aquarium, Baltimore, with an internship while in college.

Since that time, Andrew has worked for the University of Maryland's C.R.A.B. project at the Center of Marine Biotechnology in Baltimore, followed by five years in the National Aquarium, Baltimore's Fishes Department.

He relocated to the National Aquarium, Washington, D.C., two years ago when the facility began renovations. Andrew helped complete the renovation of the nation's oldest aquarium, where he oversees the husbandry and water quality operations.

Andrew earned a B.S. in biology from Salisbury University and a B.S. in environmental science from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. His career has provided him a broad working knowledge of fish and invertebrates, with his dominant focus currently on live coral husbandry and conservation.

Andrew has also been an avid lifelong boater and holds a United States Coast Guard Captains License, 50 Ton Near Coastal Master. His expertise with vessel and fishing operations has proven valuable in his career with the National Aquarium, assisting in fleet operations for conservation field work.

Andrew lives with his wife Stacey in the Annapolis area.
